Jewellery Care
Keep your precious pieces brilliant for a lifetime with our simple care guide.
Cleaning at Home
Soak your jewellery in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap for 5-10 minutes. Gently brush with a soft-bristle baby toothbrush, rinse with clean water, and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, chlorine, and ultrasonic cleaners on soft stones.
When to Remove
Remove jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, and sleeping. Keep it away from perfumes, lotions, hairsprays, and household cleaners, which can dull metal and loosen settings over time.
Storage
Store pieces individually in the provided luxury pouches or boxes, away from direct sunlight. Keep them in a cool, dry place, ideally with a silica gel pack. Avoid storing multiple pieces together to prevent scratching.
Professional Care
Get your jewellery inspected and professionally polished every 6-12 months. This helps detect loose stones and worn prongs. We offer free lifetime cleaning and prong checks on all Global1Jewels purchases.
Care by Material
Gold (14K / 18K / 22K)
Gold is a soft metal. Store separately to avoid scratches and avoid wearing during heavy chores. Polish gently with a jewellery polishing cloth to restore shine.
Diamonds
Diamonds attract oil and dust. Clean them regularly with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Check prongs periodically to prevent stones from loosening.
Gemstones & Pearls
Pearls are porous and delicate — wipe with a soft damp cloth only, never submerge or use chemicals. Coloured stones should be kept away from heat and harsh light.
Silver / Oxidised Silver
Silver tarnishes naturally with air exposure. Clean with a silver polishing cloth. For oxidised silver, avoid rubbing the dark finish — rinse gently and pat dry.
